For Christmas I was gifted this plank of wood and didn't at first know what sort of wood it was! It was a bit hard to tell as it was a bit water stained and grubby.
It turned out to be Olive, so I was keen to see what was on the inside.
I had to plan what to do and cut it to size, before being able to see the full effect of the wood as the piece was too big to fit into any machinery I have access to, I cut it to minimise waste as much as possible. Once cut I put it through a thicknesser to clean it up, the grain turned out to be really nice.
Got a range of pieces to make various items.
First item was this lovely set of coasters.
